"It always amazes me that a position such as goalkeeping can be so often neglected by coaches at every level of a players’ development these days. The truth of the matter is that a properly trained goalkeeper can affect the outcome of a game in greater proportion than any other player on the field, yet coaches these days either do not have the knowledge or time to dedicate to this specialty.  At Connecticut Coast Soccer Clinic, my goal is to provide an environment where committed goalkeepers can develop a true working understanding of the position of tending goal."

This specialized goalkeeper training will be available only to those who pre-register and will be limited to campers 12 years of age and older and will involve a half-day session for four days. The remaining half day of the clinic will be spent with players of similar age and/or playing experience.  Connecticut Coast Soccer Clinic will divide the group based on age and ensure the safety of each player participating in the goalkeeper sessions.

Goalkeeper Training topics will include the following:

• Proper Stance
• Footwork
• Receiving Balls Properly
• Forward Dives
• Breakaways
• Extended Dives
• Crosses
• Angles
• Distribution
