Attracting Serious Young Athletes

The 13th Annual Connecticut Coast Girls Soccer Camp has grown in popularity mostly because it remains the only “All Girls” soccer camp in southern Connecticut.  Connecticut Coast Soccer Camp focuses on players who have aspirations of some day playing at the Travel, Premier, High School and Collegiate level.  We have produced local Travel and Premier Team players; Olympic Development players who have become Regional Pool and National Team players; and High School players who have become All-Conference, All-State, All-New England and All-American players.

We gear our attention to both Intermediate and Advanced Players at Connecticut Coast!

All Campers will:

Develop individual skill techniques and a love for the game, which is the focus of this fun and entertaining experience.  Campers are exposed to the fundamentals of soccer using the "games approach" to teaching.  Small-sided games give players the ability to practice what they have learned in a game-like situation.  Repetition is the key to skill development and is the focus of our individual skill sessions.  This is the perfect situation for players who want to learn and enjoy their soccer camp experience.

Advanced Campers will:

Refine individual skill techniques and be exposed to the tactical aspects of the game, which are the focus of Connecticut Coast Soccer Camp.  In this soccer environment, advanced players will perform technical work under pressure and proper tactical decision making is taught, in both training and game environments.  Both small-sided and full-sided games are used to expose players to a variety of situations where tactical choices must be made.  We have found that Connecticut Coast Soccer Camp provides the serious female soccer player who strives to be the best, an opportunity to realize her potential and improve her self-confidence on the pitch.

Goalkeeper Training Sessions
A Few Thoughts from Goalkeeper Coach, Ryan Fabry and Dick Tanger:

It always amazes us that a position such as goalkeeping can be so often neglected by coaches at every level of a players’ development these days. The truth of the matter is that a properly trained goalkeeper can affect the outcome of a game in greater proportion than any other player on the field, yet coaches these days either do not have the knowledge or time to dedicate to this specialty.  At Connecticut Coast Soccer Camp, our goal is to provide an environment where committed goalkeepers of all ages can develop a true working understanding of the position of tending goal.

This specialized goalkeeper training will be available only to those who pre-register and will be limited to girls 12 years of age and older and will involve a half-day session each day. The remaining half day of camp will be spent with players of similar age and/or playing experience.  Connecticut Coast Soccer Camp will divide the group based on age and ensure the safety of each camper participating in the goalkeeper sessions.

Training topics will include the following:

• Proper Stance
• Footwork
• Receiving Balls Properly
• Forward Dives
• Breakaways
• Extended Dives
• Crosses
• Angles
• Distribution
