In 2011, Connecticut Coast Soccer of Waterford announced a groundbreaking partnership with three Southeastern Connecticut soccer clubs to create the Connecticut Coast Soccer Classic Tournament, held August 13-14, 2011 in southeastern Connecticut. While the Waterford Soccer Club (WSC) is hosting the tournament, the Classic serves as an important fundraiser for our partner clubs, and the net proceeds of the Classic will benefit the Waterford Soccer Club, East Lyme Soccer Club, and Lyme-Old Lyme Soccer Club youth programs.
The Classic, which has received the approval and sanctioning of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA) and each town's respective Recreation and Parks Commissions, will feature round-robin tournament play for boys and girls ages 10-14 from around the region and neighboring States. The tournament field will be limited to 80 teams in its first year, with expectations to grow to 100+ teams as new municipal facilities are completed in the area during 2011. As active participants in our partner clubs, and as parents who have seen the unique, positive environment that youth soccer provides for your children, we are writing to ask for your support of this new tournament in one of two important ways: First, we need your help in identifying local businesses, including your employer, that would purchase advertising space in the Classic Program Book; and second, by considering the purchase of a 1/8 page advertisement in our Classic Tournament Program Book in support of your families' player(s).
The purchase of this advertising space, will not only help to offset the considerable costs of the tournament, including field equipment, referees, player awards, programs, medical services, and other necessities, but 50% of your donation can also be earmarked by you to directly support the partner club of your choice! Proceeds directed to the Waterford Soccer Club will support the Spera Field Lights Project, per their request; proceeds directed to the East Lyme Soccer Club and the Lyme-Old Lyme Soccer Club will support Coaching Education Programs and Materials, per their request.
All donations should be made payable to "Waterford Soccer Club" and reference "Classic 2012", and can be sent to Connecticut Coast Soccer Classic, c/o Rob Brule, Tournament Director, 15 Leary Drive, Waterford, CT 06385. Funds earmarked for each soccer club will be audited and dispersed by each club's respective Tournament Operating Committee Member, to ensure the funds are directed as indicated.
Local businesses, or your employer, should know that the Classic is expected to draw an estimated 3,000 people to Southeastern Connecticut providing them a unique opportunity to enhance their visibility in the Southeastern Connecticut community, while being involved in a tournament that will directly impact their customers, employees, and local families.

About the Waterford Soccer Club
The Waterford Soccer Club (WSC) is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to promoting the sport of soccer within the Town of Waterford, Connecticut. Since 1974 our organization has enabled thousands of children to participate in a quality athletic program. Our club caters to children of all ages and every level of playing ability. We expect over 700 children to participate in our program this year. For the past 16 years the WSC hosts its annual Connecticut Coast Soccer Clinic.
